WirtschaftsWoche/Financial Times: Weickmann & Weickmann Ranked as a Leading Law Firm for Patent Law in Germany and Europe

Düsseldorf/London/Munich, November 18, 2019: The Munich patent law firm Weickmann & Weickmann is one of the leading law firms for patent law in Germany according to research by the business magazine WirtschaftsWoche. The attorney team of the law firm was included in the list of the most renowned patent attorneys in Germany, and the entire partnership was honored as top law firm for patent law. The list of best attorneys for patent law and copyright was published in the edition of October 18, 2019 of the leading business magazine. Moreover, in July Weickmann & Weickmann was included in the list of “Europe’s Leading Patent Law Firms 2019” by the Financial Times. Weickmann & Weickmann was awarded for the special expertise in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI) drew up the ranking for the business magazine WirtschaftsWoche. For this ranking, 1,260 lawyers in 168 law firms were asked to appoint the most renowned experts from their point of view. A jury of experts selected the leading patent law firms and the most often recommended attorneys. This year’s jury for patent law consisted of: Dr. Dennis Amschewitz, company lawyer of Robert Bosch GmbH, Jochen Meyer, leader of the patent department and authorized officer of Vodafone GmbH, Dr. Claas Westermann, Head of M&A Legal of RWE AG, Dr. Stephan Wolke, CEO of thyssenkrupp Intellectual Property GmbH and Prof. Dr. Achim Schunder, leader of the Frankfurt branch office of the publishing company C.H. Beck.

The ranking of the Financial Times is based on a study of Statista, for which 7,500 patent lawyers in European law firms and 2.500 patent experts in the legal departments of international companies were interviewed. Based on the reviewed independent recommendations, 142 patent law firms were included in the list.
