WEICKMANN appoints Maximilian Rienhardt as partner

Munich, March 31, 2025: The Munich-based patent and law firm WEICKMANN has appointed Maximilian Rienhardt as a partner with effect from January 1, 2025. The graduate engineer and patent attorney works in the firm’s technology department, specializing in the patenting and enforcement of intellectual property rights for technical patents and developments in industry.

Maximilian Rienhardt has extensive industry knowledge in mechanical engineering, particularly in the fields of automotive engineering, food technology, especially slicing and packaging machines, household appliances, machine tools, electromechanics, and sensor technology. His clients include large international companies as well as medium-sized businesses and several start-ups.

Maximilian Rienhardt studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, specializing in automotive engineering and management. During his studies, he worked in research and development at the BMW Group, focusing on efficiency optimization of powertrains, and at BMW Motorrad in the motorsport division.

He has been working at WEICKMANN in the field of intellectual property law since 2017. He has been a German patent attorney since 2021, a European Trademark and Design Attorney since 2022, and a European Patent Attorney since 2022. Last year, he was admitted as a representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC). His main areas of practice include patent grant proceedings and opposition proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Patent Court, and the European Patent Office, nullity proceedings and utility model cancellation proceedings, as well as license agreements and expert opinions in patent infringement matters. He also advises on employee inventions and third-party intellectual property rights.
