Weickmann at the official opening of the EUIPO Copyright & Knowledge Centre in Alicante, Spain

Our partner Dr. Udo W. Herberth participated in the first EUIPO Copyright Conference on November 20 and 21, 2025. The two-day event was organized in close cooperation with the European Commission and featured high-profile contributions from renowned copyright experts from academia and EU institutions. The program was also complemented by cultural and artistic performances.

A particular highlight was the official opening of the EUIPO Copyright Knowledge Centre on November 20, 2025. The new center of excellence aims to help both users and creators deepen their knowledge of copyright and improve their access to the EUIPO’s diverse resources—an important step toward strengthening the copyright knowledge base in the rapidly evolving digital age.

Overall, the conference proved to be extremely informative, insightful, and effective in the long term. Valuable new networks were also established among the several thousand participants.
